Wonders of Warner Bros
Today was our last full day in Los Angeles. We decided to visit Warner Brothers Studios in Burbank to take a tour and see how movies and TV shows are made. Very interesting tour.
We started out with a full hour with a tour guide taking us around this 110 acres full of 31 sound studios and many streets that have been used and transformed for many movies.
Many of these buildings are just facades, only the front is there, they really are not full buildings. Some however are, and usually they have multiple entrances and doorways so the same building can be used for different scenes on different shows.
No to answer your question, we did not see any celebrities, our visit was on a Saturday and they do not shoot on the weekends.
If a show runs for more than 10 seasons, then a plaque like the Big Bang Theory gets installed on the outside of the sound stage to show which one it was produced in. We saw plaques for Friends and Two and a half men as well.
Next was a tour inside a building which was full of actual costumes, and articles from many movies and shows.
Afterwards we were again taken outside to have a picture at the fountain on the couch from Friends. This couch looks so real and nobody told us before we sat down that is was made from Styrofoam and it was quite hard.
Finally into the main building to see more costumes, full sized vehicles from Batman, a display from Game of Thrones and even a section of Harry Potter, including the original Dobby from the movie.
It was a fabulous way to spend our last day here in La La Land.
Tomorrow we head back home spending our final day in airports and in the air. We will be homeless when we arrive since we had some sort of a flood in our Condo last Thursday and the Client Service Rep told us initially that nothing was damaged, but last night we got an Email saying that we could not return home as planned on Monday.
We don't really know what has happened or what this means, but that is another story that really isn't related to this blog.
It has been a wonderful 48 days, filled with so many places to visit, things to see, living on the ocean, meeting up with so many friends from so far away and having a great time. Reality will kick back in once we are finally able to go home.
We hope you have enjoyed following our latest adventures.
Until next time.
Vinaka
It will be nice to have you both back on Canadian soil to continue with more adventures here! (After a nice rest, of course!)
