Western Australia - Perth - Mandurah

We arrived in Perth and our friends picked us up at the airport to spend the night at their place. It was late in the evening and the stars in the small town of Bindoon were amazing.

The home is high on a hill and the views around are stunning.

In the morning after breakfast we were shown around their property and came across the many animals living here.

We went in to Perth to see some sites, and have lunch.

After lunch we headed into Mandurah to share with two other couples we met on our European Tour 8 years ago. It was a great reunion and we all shared a large home for a couple of days getting reacquainted and visiting Mandurah where our Airbnb was. A lovely 4 bedroom home located at Waterside Canal.

We went on a walk in search of one of the Mandurah Giants. These were created by an artist, Thomas Dambu, famous for his work using recycled and reusable materials.  The walk along the shore of the Indian Ocean was wonderful!

After a short walk we came across this Giant. Amazing, created with used wood.

Afterwards, we went to a golf club for a drink, and see more surprises.  It would be fun to golf on this course with so many spectators.

We stayed to watch the sunset before heading back home for dinner.

After a good night sleep and some breakfast we were off again in search of another Giant.  There are a total of 6 of these Giants located around. This time we walked through some forested areas in our search.

Afterwards we had lunch at an outdoor café. Now you know if you are eating outdoors either at home, in a resort like the Dominican or elsewhere birds or other animals will come by to try to sneak off with some food. Here in Australia they are a bit bigger than back home!

  2. Wow, I've never seen a kargaroo, even in a zoo, nor have I seen the Indian Ocean. So....mark those down as very special!
